The Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation (YAAF), in collaboration with YKA Edmaj, partnered with Cleanup Bahrain to mark World Cleanup Day 2026 through a beach cleanup drive at Malkiya Beach, bringing together YKA staff volunteers in a collective effort to protect Bahrain’s coastline and promote environmental responsibility.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from dedicated volunteers from Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons (YKA), who came together to contribute their time and efforts towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment for the community.
During the cleanup, volunteers collected and removed a significant volume of waste, including plastic, wood and metal debris. In total, an impressive 1.22 tons of waste was cleared from Malkiya Beach, making a tangible contribution towards the preservation of Bahrain’s coastline and creating a cleaner and safer environment for the community.
Commenting on the initiative, Mrs. Mariam AlUmran, Board Member of the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation, said:
“World Cleanup Day is a powerful reminder that meaningful environmental change begins with collective action. Seeing our colleagues and volunteers come together, contribute their time and make a measurable difference at Malkiya Beach demonstrates what we can achieve when we take responsibility for the spaces and communities around us. Clearing 1.22 tons of waste is a significant achievement, but the greater impact lies in inspiring greater awareness and encouraging each of us to play our part in protecting Bahrain’s natural environment for generations to come.”
The Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement and social responsibility. Through initiatives such as the World Cleanup Day 2026 beach cleanup, the Foundation continues to encourage active participation, responsible environmental practices and collective action towards a cleaner and healthier Bahrain.
