The Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation (YAAF) has successfully completed its “Summer Care Initiative 2026”, a community-focused program aimed at supporting laborers working in outdoor environments during the summer months in Bahrain.
As part of the initiative, Summer Care Kits were distributed to laborers at a labor camp in Askar, in collaboration with the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS).
The initiative was designed with the needs of outdoor laborers in mind, providing a set of practical items intended to support their comfort, hydration and protection while working in the challenging summer heat.
A total of 300 Summer Care Kits were distributed as part of the initiative, each kit included: Cloth Bag, Insulated Water Bottle, Round Hat, Arm Sleeves, Face Mask / Balaclava, Hydration Powder
The distribution ceremony was attended by Mrs. May Almoayed, Vice Chairperson of the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation, and Mrs. Mona Almoayyed, Managing Director of Y. K. Almoayyed & Sons and Chairperson of the Migrant Workers Protection Society, along with Mr. Ashish Shetty, Foundation Manager, Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation, and officials and representatives from MWPS.
Speaking on the occasion, the Foundation highlighted that the Summer Care Initiative 2026 forms part of YAAF’s continued commitment to meaningful community engagement and support for communities across Bahrain. The initiative was developed specifically to extend practical support to labourers who work outdoors and are exposed to the intense summer heat as part of their daily working conditions.
The presence of the Foundation and MWPS representatives at the distribution reflected the collaborative nature of the initiative and provided an opportunity to engage directly with the beneficiaries.
The labour community expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation for the support extended through the initiative.
The successful completion of the Summer Care Initiative 2026 marks the first Foundation-led initiative specifically focused on providing practical summer support to the labour community, reinforcing YAAF’s commitment to initiatives that create meaningful and tangible community impact.
