Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons Inaugurates its Second Solar Powered Facility

Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons (YKA) successfully inaugurated its second solar-power project located on the rooftop of the YKA Heavy Equipment Service Centre in the Sitra Industrial area. The state-of-the-art system can generate 804 kW of electricity, which will not only meet the facility’s requirements but will also help meet the company’s power requirements at other locations. After the launch of the solar power project at YKA’s Infiniti Showroom in July 2021, this project represents a continuation of YKA’s energy sustainability plan as this initiative is aligned with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 that aims to ensure a sustainable and environment-friendly approach to energy and reduction of carbon footprint.

Mr. Farouk Yusuf Almoayyed – Chairman of Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons Group, said,“We are committed to supporting the kingdom’s shift to clean energy and are proud of our entire team’s efforts on this project. This project is a great milestone and will be a breakthrough for the region’s green energy revolution.”

Alok Gupta – Chief Executive Office of YKA, added, “The HE Service Solar Project is a significant achievement for YKA. With its commissioning, our total contribution of solar energy to the electric grid from the two projects now exceeds 1MW, which is equivalent to a reduction of 1,045 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per annum. This initiative is a step in the right direction towards a greener and more sustainable future.”
