Employee of the month scheme was launched in January’2008. The purpose of the Employee of the Month Program is to recognize extra ordinary employees who serve the company in an exceptional manner and perform outstanding work and exhibit a positive and supportive attitude.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH – AWARD CRITERIA
    
ELIGIBILITY
At the time of the nomination, the nominee:
Must be on the pay roll of YKA Group,
Must have completed his/her initial probationary period ,
Must not have any active disciplinary action pending.
Must not be absent from work without information or approved leave
May not be a member of the Management Board
Must be in grade 8 or below
The Employee of the Month shall be chosen from among all occupations and from grades 1 to 8 levels within the Group.

The employee of the month award will be given to one or more employee chosen from various divisions of the company including corporate office & sales outlets.

TYPES OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT WILL QUALIFY AN EMPLOYEE FOR THE AWARD:

Examples of worthy accomplishments that could lead to a nomination are as follows:
a. Complete a short-term project or special assignment which requires a unique or innovative approach. 
b. Develop and implement procedures that enhance office productivity or reduce cost / wastages
c. Enhance office morale through teamwork, exhibit flexibility in meeting new challenges under tight deadlines.
d. Provide front-line customer service, which reflects favorably on the Line or Staff Office.
e. Contribute to improve brand image of the Group.
 Nomination Procedure:
Any supervisory or non-supervisory employee may nominate an individual for recognition as Employee of the Month. The final nominations however shall be sent by the department managers approved by the General Manager / department head.  
Alternatively, the employee himself may make the submission for the nomination citing his accomplishments to his manager / department head.  
Nominations should be submitted, either hard copy or via electronic mail, in the prescribed format.  The justification must describe a recent achievement or service, including the results of the contribution, which would qualify the employee for the award.  In addition, the nomination form shall contain the following information:
a. Nominee name, position title and grade,
b. Nominee’s office location and employee code,
c. Period of recognition, and
d. Basis of recommendation
The nominations shall be submitted to Group HR department in the prescribed form by 5th of every month. Any nomination received after 5th will be considered for review in the subsequent month.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The following factors will be considered in evaluating nominations:
The importance of contribution and extent to which it served to contribute to the goals of the division;
The originality of the contribution and the inspiration it may serve to other employees toward excellence of performance.

SELECTION PROCEDURES
On receiving the nominations, a panel consisting of a nominee from the HR department & Quality Manager will review the nominations, including the eligibility of each nominee.  The recommendations will be submitted to the Chief Executive for approval.

TYPE OF RECOGNITION
The employee of the month will receive
A certificate signed by the CE/ Department Head / Group HR Manager.   
An article in newsletter & YKA intranet site including the names and photographs of those recognized &  
BD 50 Cash.
